Two looting arrests in Tecate

Posted @ 10:12 AM

Two additional looting arrests were made Wednesday evening, San Diego County Sheriff Bill Kolender said.

The men were spotted on Tecate Road near the border with items in their hands taken from burned-out residences, sheriff's officials said. They were arrested as they tried to cross into Mexico at the Tecate port of entry.

I hope they get the full 3years in prison!!!

Funny that the people caught stealing at Qualcomm were illegals from Mexico and these were caught crossing the border back into Mexico

Ask them if they are right or left handed, then cut that one off! Don't let them bleed to death though, they need to suffer for the crime.

Yuo are all in need of help. Ask these people why they feel the need to steal. Maybe thier need is greater than you can imagine

To mr. newsman......and their 'need' is an excuse to steal my stuff!! Give me a break! It's still MY stuff, not theirs.

Newsman
pullyour head out of your ass.
This nation gives millions of above board aid to that nation yearly
and BILLIONS of our cash sent back via western union on top of that!

I don't care how poor someone is
stealing is wrong
stealing from those that have lost all they have
is MUCH MUCH WORSE.

I'm a very liberal person but your statements have seriously angered me and if I had you within arms reach I would beat you bloody for being so damn dumb.

IF Mexico refuses to care for it's people and continue with it's brand of corruption - That's not our fault and not our problem. I will refuse to make the messed up filthy bed for my screwed up & corrupt neighbor. Especially if I've caught them in the past creeping through my window to steal from me as I sleep.
NO MORE !

How selfish are these immigrants! The thought of another person's possessions would satisfy their hunger to be rich. Money is greedy!

Anonymous said...

i agree, it wasn't right.
but maybe we need to be less selfish & not only give when there is time of "need". maybe we need to give to our neighbors in mexico & elsewhere on a daily basis, not just when there is a natural disaster. this has been a challenging time to me & i hope to be able to make a change in the world around me all the time.

True, there are a lot of us who have more than we need. Why not help those who don't have as much as we do.

Anonymous said...

What the heck! Why don't you leave these poor 'immigrants' alone! They're only here to do the work Americans won't do!

Newsmans remarks are the result of the moral relativism that has overtaken our society, including our churches and media. Stealing is wrong, regardless of the rationalization. Someone once said "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods" and also "Thou shalt not steal", and as they say, those were not suggestions. Rationalizing sinful behavior is corruption, and is why Mexico is riddled with it from the top government officials to the poor man in the street. The Church needs to explain why it has failed so miserably to teach morality in countries where it has so much influence. It continues to excuse the behavior today in it's policies toward illegal immigrants.

Oh dear, more illegal mexicans stealing from those who have lost it all. What a surprise! When will Americans realize we need to do something about this illegal problem? O wait, "but they're in need." I work my ass off to put a roof over my head. If I were to catch them (or anybody else) stealing my belonging, I would sever all four of their limbs with a dull, rusty axe.

People are soooooo freaking inconsiderate and dumb.

Just because they haven't lost anything due to this situation, doesn't mean they should contribute to other people's misfortunes.

Newsman has a good point, but I would not assume they have a "need" to steal. However I do agree that what would be a disaster in an American life is not comparable to a disastrous life for someone probably born into poverty.

Hey Newsman, you chase parked cars. You sound like a bible thumping, bleeding heart liberal. Tell me, where does it say ANYWHERE that it's ok to steal. Especially from the now homeless. These two should be burried up to their necks in an ant hole and covered in honey.

I really can't stand commitments made by ignorant people who have lived a life outside of poverty. Sadly most of these commitments are made by Americans who live on land that once belonged to Mexicans or Native Americans. If that isn't stealing I am not sure what is. Stealing is wrong but until you have to decide between feeding your family and taking something from someone that probably doesn't need it anyways, I think we should approach those who do wrong to us with love and compassion. This does not mean that they shouldn't face consequences but are anger should be directed in a way to create positive change not destructive behavior.

How dare ANYONE even remotely support looters. They are not the ones I sacrificed 23 years of my life in the Navy for. Anyone who would support them should be "erased".

LIVED OUTSIDE OF POVERTY!? I retired from the military and I'm about to lose my house because I can't afford it anymore. I have a daughter with Downs Syndrome and a wife with Epilepsy. I willingly sacrficed over 20 years to MY country. What have those ILLEGAL immigrants sacrificed for this country.

Anonymous said...

Seeing that probably most of us came from ancestors who were illegal (Irish, Italians, Asians) illegals have done a lot for this country.

Anonymous said...

My grand father immigrated LEGALLY. That's the LEGAL way to do it. Maybe the word legal doesn't translate to their language.

What is more destructive than stealing from those who have already lost so much. And who are you to decide what I need and don't need anyway.

Oh lord - now it's an immigration blog?????

#1) - We didn't "steal" California from Mexico - we bought it after our army had pulverized the Mexican army and could have just taken it. Now before you all jump all over me, I am not saying it was a FAIR purchase, or a FAIR war, but the truth is, we DID pay for the land we have from Mexico. And the South American culture did it's fair amount of stealing also - unless the Spanish decimation of the Aztecs, Incas, and other Meso-American Indians doesn't count??? Not to mention the slave trade, the favelos in Brazil, etc.

#2) Yes, this country (and many others) was taken from the native people who lived here. It's true. Just as it is true that colonial Americans imported African slaves, and the Spanish enslaved the Meso-Americans, and the Inquisition killed Jews and Moors, and Nero persecuted the Christians, and Egypt enslaved the Nubians, and women have been viewed as property for 5,000 years. There will always be a stronger force victimizing a weaker. Sorry - it's true. Deal with it and quit blaming present opinions on past events.

#3) No matter what - immigrants, natives, martians - WHATEVER - those who prey on the helpless are the scum of the earth. They rate with pedophiles and animal abusers. The highest expression of our humanity is how we treat those who are helpless.

#4) Look up the definition of BORDER. We have borders so that those in our country are here legally. European immigrants who came from France, Ireland, Germany, etc. had to follow the process. Ever been to Ellis Island??? America is a melting pot - bring us your poor and down-trodden - just bring them legally so they can be productive members of society, not thieving leeches.

With that being said - my thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has suffered a loss in this tragedy.

Ever think about all the campfires, votive candles, and butane campstoves in the hills and canyons around our county? It appears to me that the line of fire starting points both in these fires and the Cedar fires followed the migrant trails from the border. Am I off base?

To Anonymous with the daughter with Down's Syndrome. Tell us how we can help you. Maybe there is a solution you haven't thought of.

Anonymous said...

To that fool newsman maybe you need to be shot for siding with a looter. Anyone who is low enough to steal from people who have lost almost all to everything doesnt deserve to breathe the same air I do.

If they were stealing food, that is one thing... they may have been desperate to eat...
But if they were stealing a Plasma TV or a CD player.. I highly doubt they need that stuff to survive....
And if they were that desperate to eat, there are LOTS of evacuation stations that will feed anyone that comes to it.....
They are just what they are....THIEVES.

Of course, there is no justification for stealing (food might be an exception in some cases, but this wasn't one). That being said, why are people focusing on the fact that these people were in the country illegally? Surely many crimes are committed daily in the US, some by US-born criminals, some by "visiting" criminals. It's not like there have never been any US Americans that committed a crime outside their native land.

I find that commenters here are concentrating on the fact that these criminals were foreigners is very telling.

NIMBY, anyone?
